Summer kicks off with the Great Lakes Boating Festival May 17-18 at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club
Commerce Twp., Mich., May 6, 2025 – Sip, stroll, and shop the docks at the Great Lakes Boating Festival May 17-18 at the prestigious Grosse Pointe Yacht Club. This annual boat show is free to attendees and features boats up to 60’ in length to see and purchase, as well as product and service booths. The show has a picturesque background of the beautiful waters of Lake St. Clair.
Entertainment includes music, fresh grilled food court, lawn games, cocktails, and more!
Features at the show include a 100% electric personal watercraft Tiaga Orca that will be on display with Elk Rapids Marina. Action Water Sports will feature an all-new helm in their Mastercraft X24 on display as well as have Michigan-made Balise Pontoons. Plus, America’s Boating Club Grosse Pointe will have a sign up for Free Vessel Safety Checks at the event, as well as information on Boating Safety Classes, just in time for Boating Safety Week!
Parking is $20 at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club, or park for free and take a complimentary shuttle to the show from North High School,707 Vernier Rd, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236.
The Summer Breeze Kick-off Party on May 17th will benefit the Grosse Pointe Youth Nautical Education Foundation (GPYNEF). The GPYNEF awards scholarships to high school graduates that participate in sailing. In addition to the education scholarships, the GPYNEF also awards five perpetual scholarships supported by endowments from donors. The GPYNEF also provides funding to high school sailing programs and grants to young sailors who travel to compete in national level events. Tickets to the party may be purchased on the festival website.

Revenue generated from this event is returned to fund boater’s interests via MBIA’s programs and services.
